Career Technical Education Awards Banquet

 

Students who excelled in career technical education courses were honored at the 19th annual CTE Student Awards Banquet on May 18. Twenty-two students from the three high schools were recognized for their achievements in the following curriculum areas: Agricultural & Natural Resources Technology, Health Sciences, Apparel Development Services, Food Services, Children & Family Services, Information Technology, Business & Administration Services, Marketing & Entrepreneurship, Drafting & Design Technologies, Youth Apprenticeships and Diesel at Wilson Technical Community College.

Jim Pridgen, plant manager at Bridgestone-Firestone, spoke to students, parents and teachers about the personal traits and characteristics that employers look for in successful 21st century employees.

Action Staffing Group and Wilson Technical Community College presented scholarship awards to four students to help them continue their education.
