Career Days

Over 200 employees from more than 50 businesses and community agencies participated in the 4th annual Career Education Days at Wilson Mall.  The event was designed to introduce more than 950 eighth grade students and their teachers to careers, job settings, and work force preparation skills.  Students learned from presentations about Wilson Community College courses of study, a high school Academy Showcase, a career fair with displays from local businesses and roundtable conversations with people employed in a variety of occupations representative of the high school academy themes.  Career Education Days 2011 were sponsored by the Wilson Education Partnership in cooperation with Wilson County Schools, Wilson Community College, Wilson Mall, Carmike Cinemas, the Wilson Chamber of Commerce and Wilson County’s Workforce Development Committee with support from Everfi and Wilson County Department of Social Services.
